The College Football season ended with the Michigan Wolverines taking down the Washington Huskies in Houston. Both teams went through major changes, and the off-season is just a month old. There are changes all over the country, which change the odds almost weekly in College Football.
While much of the sports world is starting to place its focus on the big dance, the NCAA Tournament for basketball, the latest Odds to win March Madness has been released, and there are some interesting teams rising. But, we wanted to give an update on what’s going on in the football world. Here are the latest odds to win the 2024-2025 National Title.
Table of Contents
Georgia Bulldogs +330
Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs were none too pleased about being left out of the College Football playoff in their efforts to win their third straight title. The Bulldogs will start the new season with a chip on their shoulder. Georgia is going to be the favorite in the SEC and in the country. Texas, Alabama, and LSU are the biggest threats, with Ole Miss lingering in SEC play. Georgia’s ability to run the football will determine how great they will be.
Ohio State Buckeyes +500
Ryan Day and his staff are loading up with talent. Losing out to Michigan the last couple of seasons has not set well for the fans in Columbus. Transfers and big-time recruits are coming this way in an effort to get to the title game and win it all. The Buckeyes are going to be the favorites coming out of the Big Ten, despite the expansion seeing a few new teams join in the mix.
Texas Longhorns +750
It will be the first season for the Texas Longhorns in the SEC. No longer are the Longhorns members of the Big 12. It will be interesting to see how the style of play affects them. Steve Sarkisian is no stranger to the SEC style of football. The Longhorns have several key players returning from a team that made the College Football Playoff a season ago.
Alabama Crimson Tide +1100
It will be a little different seeing the Alabama Crimson Tide without Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide are 11/1 odds to win the title in Kalen DeBoer’s first season as the head coach. He left Washington and now will face the tough task of navigating through the rugged SEC. The Crimson Tide will have a new look roster, but one thing Alabama has been able to do – get great players to play.
LSU Tigers +1200
Gone is Jayden Daniels from behind the center. The Tigers will re-load though and put themselves back in a position to succeed. It’s going to be a crowded front end of the SEC, as they are the fourth team out of the first five looking to win a national title.
Oregon Ducks +1200
The Ducks lost two games a season ago, and both were to the Washington Huskies. They are going to have a bunch of returning athletes, but without Bo Nix leading the charge. The Ducks head coach elected to stay, and their move to the Big Ten is going to be a process. Oregon comes in at +1200 to win the National title, not bad odds for a program that seems to be on the verge.
Michigan Wolverines +1400
There will be a lot to replace for the defending national champions. One of those is their head coach. He went to the Los Angeles Chargers, and now the Wolverines will look to a young first-time head coach to lead the way. Michigan is still one of the favorites out of the Big Ten, and will have a battle with Ohio State once again.
Ole Miss Rebels +1500
Lane Kiffin is at the helm of the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels will be a fun team to follow because they are going to want to put points on the scoreboard. With the expansion of the playoff to 12 teams, the Rebels are hoping they can find their way in. The biggest question mark with Ole Miss will be whether they can play enough defense to keep them in games and lose just two or fewer games.
There you have it. Those are the top 8 teams to win the College Football Playoff in the 2024 season. It should be a great time with the extended playoff. Enjoy the off-season, but get ready for another wild and crazy season coming soon!
